Steps to Get USA Study Visa

These are the easy steps you should follow to get your USA study visa.

Step-1

Search universities

university-search  After searching, you can definitely short out a list of the colleges or universities you wanna get admitted into. But still choosing a right university for you has not been easy at all. Because there are about thousands of universities in USA (Approx. 37,00) . You should be picking out certain criteria that matters most to you and seeing if any of the colleges or universities you are looking fits in that criteria.

Step-2

Application Form

Majority of the universities provide online application form (approx. 80%). In an online application form you have to make a profile in the university’s website and then you can get your application form to fill up. Most of the universities requests an application essay that’s why your essay should be already prepared  before you start to fill the form.

After you get approved by the admission officers, you’ll be request to send your documents via courier and the documents are:

  1. High school transcript, mark sheet, and the provisional certificate (all attested){Attest it from USEF }
  2. CFIS (CERTIFICATION OF FINANCES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS)
  3. Bank Statement (original) showing  balance of at least one year of tuition, fees and living expenses.

 

Step-3

Receiving Your i20

Your I-20 or DS-2019 will be issued within 2 weeks from the time the ISSS office receives and reviews all of your documents. Your admission office will then mail it out to you to the mailing address you provided on your CFIS Form. 

 

Step-4

Pay the SEVIS fee

Before applying for an F-1 or J-1 visa, all first time F-1 and J-1 visa applicants (as well as some others) are required to pay the SEVIS FEE in addition to the visa application fee. It’s fee is $200 for F-1 and $180 for J-1 students.

 

Step-5

Apply for the visa

After you receive your immigration documents, you will need to apply at the US Embassy or Consulate in your country for your F-1 or J-1 visa. Visa application fee is $160.
